How is Total Water Use Estimated?


By Your Field

Total water use is estimated by Land IQ at the field-level. User-defined fields are created by grouping one or more Land IQ fields. The total water use of a user-defined field is the sum of the total water use of each Land IQ field that makes up the user-defined field. 


By Parcel


Total water use is estimated by Land IQ at the field-level. Land IQ fields are associated with a parcel. The total water use of a parcel is the sum of the total water use of each Land IQ fields associated with a parcel. 


Example calculation of summing water use by parcel


Total Farmed Acres of Parcel 1 = Field A acres + Field B acres + Field C acres + Field D acres + Field E acres + Field F acres


Total ETa (AF) of Parcel 1 = (Field A ETa af/ac * Field A acres) + (Field B ETa af/ac * Field B acres) + (Field C ETa af/ac * Field C acres)+...
