Explore Usage by Field

The water usage by field tab allows users to explore water use data by the user-defined groups and fields created on the Water Dashboard Farm Map. To learn more about creating fields and groups read the Farm Map Setup Guide.

Unmapped Fields in the usage by field data table represents the sum of all Land IQ fields that were not assigned to a user-defined field on the Farm Map. 

Ungrouped Fields in the usage by field data table are user-defined fields that were created on the Farm Map, but were not assigned to a user-defined group. 

Note on Allocation Lines on Field Graphs

Allocation amounts (AF/ac) are shown on the graphs as a benchmark value - they do not represent the actual groundwater allocation for the field. No allocation amounts (AF) shown on the graphs at the field-level because allocations are assigned at the parcel level. 

Explore Usage by Parcel

The water usage by parcel tab allows users to explore water use data by parcel. Parcels are the base-unit of the GSA's water accounting and billing. Groundwater allocations are assigned at the parcel-level based on the assessed acreage of the parcel.  

Note on Allocation Lines on Field Graphs

Allocation amounts (AF/ac and AF) are shown on the graphs represent the actual groundwater allocation for the parcel. As a reminder, the water use shown on the graph is total water use, not total groundwater use. Overdraft fees are calculated using total groundwater use which is not currently calculated on the Water Dashboard.  

Explore Usage by Crop Type

The water usage by crop type tab allows users to explore water use data by the crop type assigned by Land IQ . This visualization tool uses the crop types defined by Land IQ instead of the crop types user's defined in the farm map in order to provide a benchmark value - the average water use of each Land IQ crop type in each GSA.

Allocation amounts (AF/ac and AF) are shown on the graphs represent the actual groundwater allocation for parcels with the selected Land IQ Crop Type. As a reminder, the water use shown on the graph is total water use, not total groundwater use. Overdraft fees are calculated using total groundwater use which is not currently calculated on the Water Dashboard.
